A Perfect Day in Kralendijk: From Breakfast to Sunset

One of the things we love about Bonaire is how laid-back the mornings are. We often start our day with a short walk to Between Two Buns—it’s just a quick 5-minute stroll from Villa Vos and Kas Vos, and it’s one of those spots where you can take your time and enjoy a leisurely breakfast. Their coffee and breakfast options are always a hit with us, and sitting outside with the breeze from the ocean is the perfect way to ease into the day.

After breakfast, we like to stretch our legs a bit and take a stroll along the waterfront. It’s about a 10-minute walk to Kralendijk’s center, and honestly, there’s always something to see on the way. Whether it’s a few colorful fish or even a stingray gliding through the water, it’s like a mini nature show. By the time we get to town, we’re ready to browse some shops or just wander through the streets, taking in the colorful buildings.

Most of the shops are in and around Kaya Grandi, and we love wandering through the streets, browsing the little boutiques and picking up local crafts.

When it’s time for lunch, we like to mix it up. Sometimes we stop at Number 10, which is one of the newer spots in town, and their menu is always fresh and full of delicious options. If we’re in the mood for something lighter, Bagel & Bloom has a great selection of bagels and salads, and it’s such a cozy place to take a break before heading back out to explore.

For dinner, we love to enjoy the oceanfront views, and Karel’s Beach Bar or It Rains Fishes are two of our favorites. Both offer great food with unbeatable sunset views, and it’s such a peaceful way to end the day. The last time we had dinner at Karel’s, we lingered a bit longer just to watch the colors of the sunset reflecting on the water—it’s one of those moments that makes Bonaire feel like pure paradise.

After dinner, we often take a slow walk back to the villa, sometimes stopping by Gio’s for a post-dinner gelato treat. There’s something magical about the warm evening air, and walking along the water with the lights of Kralendijk twinkling in the distance always feels like the perfect ending to a beautiful day.
